Soony S. is one of those dogs. You know which ones I mean, right? I mean those dogs that manage to get themselves in trouble and then somehow manage to look at you with those sad puppy dog eyes and then they’re just not in trouble anymore. Have you ever met one of those kinds of dogs? I have. I own one.

One day I stepped outside for about 5 minutes and left the dog in the house. He wasn’t used to such freedom. He looked around the house and decided that the television, radio, and paper shredder didn’t need their cords anymore. He then looked around and found the cats. He determined that the cats just didn’t need to feel comfortable on the floor anymore. So he chased them until they decided the table was a better place to be. The cats wanted back on the floor. So they looked around and found a cup of pencils on the table. One of the cats knocked the pencils on the floor. The dog was waiting. Bye bye pencils. And that was the first minute.

The next four minutes were composed of the following: pairs of socks becoming singles, the sandwich on the counter disappearing, a large red stain from the drink sitting next to the couch, the carpet slightly ripped up by the kitchen door, shoes missing leather, and finally a sloppy wet first edition copy of “Different Seasons” by Stephen King.

I walked back in the house and saw the destruction. I then screamed the dog’s name. He came running around the corner and saw my face and realized the tone in my voice. The very next thing I saw was a face very similar to the one this Qoozin is showing. I reached down, pet him behind the ears, and told him “good boy” and proceeded to pick up the mess and get out the tape and carpet cleaner. I couldn’t help it. Those eyes do it to me all of the time. Ask my daughter.
