So, what happened to theebs.com? The original logo is up there. The little guy should look familiar. Well, originally I purchased the domain name back in 1999 to stand for THE Electronic Book Store. I wanted to sell electronic books, or eBooks as they are called. However, I had a severe case of writer’s block. It’s not an excuse, but it did cause me to look for books other people had written so I could resell them if they let me.
Well, I found a whole bunch of them. I packaged them together and called it “LORE.” That stood for Library Of Resellable Ebooks. I sold it for less than $10.00 a pop and they went pretty good. I was also in tons of affiliate programs. Those are when a site will pay YOU a percentage for any sales you make for them. I made some decent money that way. But I just couldn’t get over not having my own material to sell. I tried to write a book about graphics design and got one chapter done and then got stuck. I tried just selling my graphics design, but that was a pain to do over the Internet. I still do that for a living, but only on a face-to-face basis. Then life happened and I lost access to the Internet and quite a few other issues. Throughout the time the site was open, I had written a few, well, in my opinion, good articles about webmastering, specifically in reference to Internet marketing.
Well, 7 years later, I have found all of those old articles and the files for Theebs.com. However, I’ve made a name for myself. Literally. I took 7 Scrabble© tiles and mixed them around until I came up with the name Saphrym. I’ve used it many places. And now that I have a site again, I’ve decided to bring back some of those articles because I think they were good pieces of information. And just to let you know, I was making about $200.00 a month with theebs.com before I lost access to it. And that was slowly but steadily going up. But while I had Internet “downtime,” the domain name was lost to me. I have not been able to get it back. But that’s ok, like the phoenix, out of the ashes was born Saphrym.com. Saphrym doesn’t stand for anything. I just like the name.
Oh, and my friends call me Saph.
