This is my first attempt at a Photoshop tutorial. I’m calling it a Photoshop fix. You know. Like “get your fix!” This particular one ran between 7 minutes and 8 minutes, but I want the titles to stay consistent, so I’m calling it the 10 Minute Photoshop Fix. They’ll always be 10 minutes or less.
This particular graphic made me think “Bewitched” after I did it. Might be the sky and stars and the word “Goddess.” At least I didn’t include platform shoes in the graphic. But this one was for Domestic Goddess. The finished graphic is below the video. Enjoy my first attempt at this. The videos will get better quality as I go and learn what I’m doing.
The finished graphic:

Man, I hate to be the first poster and then be negative. But to be honest, I don’t like the finished card. Had you kept the background white, and used the black silhouette, I would have liked it more. On the other hand, it was interesting hearing the Saphrym voice. I expected something a little more squeaky, like someone inhaling helium. Also, as far as first tutorials go, it was an OK video.

I may not necessarily like the card that you did in the video, but I just love the other ones you have done. I wish I was that good with photoshop.

Thanks for the photoshop video, that was cool that you made Domestic Goddess’s Entrecard for her.

Wow, I love the idea for the card, its kind of abstract yet to the point, very clever. The video on the other hand
I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 and I need a dummies book or something I just can’t get the layer thing. watched your video twice still baffled. Nice cards though, this one and the little piece of me one very artistic.

So this is how you do it! Now I know your secret. The problem is, I just don’t know how to do it. It is still better than making it from Powerpoint and copy it into Paint - the way I am doing. LOL

Great first try, Saph! Need to polish up the script some and practice it before doing the voice — too many “ums” especially at first before you really hit your stride.
Interesting concept for the card itself.
I use Corel PaintShopPro Photo XI for my graphics work and the concepts of Photoshop are very similar to PSP, but having both programs, I find PSP more user friendly, but then again I’ve been using it for years.
I’ll be interested in seeing your next tutorial.

Mixed sentiments. But I love good criticism. I’ll work on making a better video next time. Was my first time using Camtasia. (Which is great software, but too darn expensive to use on a regular basis. I’m looking into alternates.) Also, the card design is rather subjective. I ok’ed the image with the client first before even making the blog post. Really depends on what you like.
@Margaret - Script? Well, there’s my problem.
