Well, I was sitting here minding my own business when I got a phone call. It was from the nurse at the doctor’s office. She had some news for me. It seems that my triglycerides have gone down (that’s the bad cholesterol) to 202 (although my overall cholesterol has always been good). 2oo or below is best, but they dropped from 280 in just a month. So they’ll keep going down. And second, and this is the part that made me very happy, my 3-month average went from a 6.6 (6.0 and higher being diabetic) to a 5.6. A 5.6! I don’t have to take Glucophage again. I’m not diabetic anymore. I’m quite happy. So I’m going to finish writing this and go celebrate with my family.

What a drop — congratulations and keep it up.
This post put something in mind for me to remark upon. If you are struggling with blood sugar levels/weight, have you heard of a fibre product called PGX? (Damn I sound like some sort of advertising bot!!) But honest to goodness the stuff is brilliant. It’s just a suggestion, something you may want to look into…my daily routine is a megadose of vit. C, some Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid oil, and PGX. Best health in years. Just sayin’…

@Grumpus - What has worked for me so far is the oatmeal I eat.

It’s the cinnamon and such. I try to stay away from supplements if at all possible. I don’t like relying on them. But vitamins I’ll do and for now the protein powder. I used to take fiber supplements but gave them up because of the oatmeal.

That’s great news, congratulations! But, I’m no doctor but the bad cholesterol is LDL and the good is HDL. Triglycerides on my blood tests is always a different number that doesn’t seem related to cholesterol, although important enough to put it on blood tests, and good for it to go down.

@John = Man. Now you’re confusing me. It could have been the HDL. I was too excited to remember correctly.
And thanks for the congrats!
