Vitamin BAbout 15 years ago a friend of mine and I had a friendly competition. I didn’t weigh 355 pounds back then, but I was a little overweight. So we had a weight loss competition. She chose Slim-Fast shakes as her “weapon of choice” and I chose vitamin B complex as mine. We both went walking. We both had the same meals. She drank a shake. I took my vitamin.

After 1 week, she gained 5 pounds and I lost 10 pounds. That memory came back to me while I was at the grocery store yesterday. So I decided to add something else to my daily intake. I’m adding a Vitamin B complex. It’s the B150’s. They have tons of the different B vitamins in them. Those are great for metabolism. And considering they provide energy, if taken in the morning, can wake you up almost as well if not better than a cup of coffee.

B vitamins are awesome. They seemed to help quite a bit when I worked out everyday.

@Gary - That’s what I’m hoping for. I figure since I’m losing weight with Slim-Fast already and I lost weight with B vitamins before, maybe a combination would help even more.

If you’re doing supplements, you might also want to consider Fish Oil/Cod Liver Oil. Omega fatty acids are supposed to be pretty awesome. I take some every day and it’s helped my depression a lot.

@C - I considered those. They were right next to the Bs. I’ll have to look into them more. Depression hasn’t been an issue since I met my wife, but I know they’re good for other things too. ;)

Fish oil is EXCELLENT when you need help lower cholesterol. I suffer from extremely high triglycerides and by adding 1000 MG of fish oil daily to my medications I was able to cut my triglycerides significantly.

I’m going to look into B150. Maybe that’s what I need to get a little kick in the morning!
