I don’t know what it is, but ever since I started this diet, my tastes have changed. I think it may be because of the lack of sugar or something. I’ll give you a few examples:
1. Mustard - That picture is of mustard seeds. I used to hate mustard. Now I use it instead of mayonnaise on things like sandwiches. Did you know it’s actually good for you? And much better for you than mayonnaise.
2. Cheese - Used to I would only eat American slices, Parmesan, or mozzarella cheese. However, now one of my favorites is Pepper Jack cheese. I hated that one before.
3. Vegetables - I used to hate tomatoes. I also used to hate pickles. I could probably name a hundred vegetables I wouldn’t touch. But now, I’m liking them.
I think it’s because since I don’t eat as much sugar and bread, my taste buds are looking for anything different and filled with flavor. Have your tastes changed recently? Comment below and give some stories.

Mayonaisse - The sight of it used to make me want to run and hide somewhere. But then I was forced into a situation where I had no choice but to eat it or starve, and realized it wasn’t too bad.
Mustard - I used to be a ketchup-on-hot-dogs type girl. But in order for me to survive as a real New Yorker, I learned mustard and saurkraut were the way to go. Now I stick my nose up at anyone who orders ketchup at the hot dog stand
Health food overall, like soy milk, sprouted whole grain bread, tofu, etc. - probably would have never touched it. But my first job was working in a health food store, and lunch was free if we ate things from the store. I learned to like many new things there.
And soup - I used to love soup of any kind. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of both smelling and eating certain savory soups while on chemotherapy, and now I connect the taste and smell to when I was sick. Every time I smell something even resembling beef broth or minestrone, I get sick to my stomach.
I think that’s more than you wanted to know, but this was an interesting post
