Renting a Car Sucks

Dodge MagnumUnlike yesterday’s post, this one has NOTHING to do with dieting, other than the Diet Diary. But I just had to share. See, our van is in bad shape. It needs a new power steering column put in. The problem is my wife has an interview tomorrow and it’s further away than I’m willing to drive the van. So I rented a vehicle. It’s a Dodge Magnum station wagon. Doesn’t look like a station wagon, does it?

This thing has nice features. It’s basically keyless. It gets about 30 mpg (not bad for a larger vehicle). It’s comfortable to sit in. It makes people stare (but if I truly cared about that, I wouldn’t buy used cars all the time).

So what sucks about renting it? Two reasons:

1. I shouldn’t have to rent it because my van should be working but we got cheated by a mechanic a while back.
2. I don’t want to give it back.

*grumble grumble*

you could sell the van and buy the car…though I suppose that may have to wait until you become a well paid spokesblogger for Slim Fast ;)

That is definitely one snazzy looking ride you’ve got there! I think you really oughta be selling those Entrecard icons for real, not just for credits. You did an excellent job on mine! :)

If it runs on diesel and maintenance is low, that’s a favorable one for me. :) Sometimes a vehicle looks great at how it looks but later the maintenance will wear you down.

Dodge Magnums are fast. Even faster when they lose weight, talking about weight loss.

We rented a Dodge Magnum once. It was pretty fast at the drag strip.

Yes. They are fast. And they handle extremely well for a STATION WAGON. I was amazed.
