I had turkey sandwiches for dinner today. The funny thing is when you drop sugar from most of your food everything seems to taste better. I used to hate the taste of mustard, but now, added to a cold cut sandwich, it makes it taste that much better (and is much better for you than mayonnaise). We’ve been going simple around here except for the fried chicken we have sometimes. And simple seems to actually work out quite well.
So you keep eating your cake and pies if you want, although they’re not very good for you. I’m going to eat my turkey sandwich with pizza flavored Pringles. Ahhh, the good life.

Greetings! I’m so impressed by your motivation and perseverance to lose weight! Not to be negative or anything but as I read your daily food intake, you had oatmeal almost everyday. Just to give you a useful information which probably I hope you know, oatmeal can increase your uric acid which could possibly cause Gouty Arthritis. Is that one of the reasons why you’re taking an anti inflammatory medication? I’m cheering for you to be motivated and reach your goal and maintain it! Kudos to you!

Yeah. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. So I did research before settling on oatmeal.
Here’s a good site for the pros and cons of oatmeal:
http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=54
Here’s a quote from it: “Yet, recent research has suggested that purines from meat and fish increase risk of gout, while purines from plant foods fail to change the risk.”
So I’m not as much at a risk for gout as I would be if I was on something like an Atkins diet with all meat and fish.
Thanks for the warning though. And thanks for your support!

Sounds like a plan. I am on a diet high in protien and veggies with daily vitamins but I do exercise as well. My goal is 10k steps per day measured on a pedometer.

Debo: Do you count ALL steps for the day? I’m thinking of getting a pedometer, so that’s why I ask.
