It’s non-existent. Seriously. We started one last year, but, well, let’s just say there’s not a green thumb in the family. It’s really sad when a fake plant turns brown under your care. I love Ken’s trees. But could I ever grow one? No. I think I might be stuck to fake plants and neat garden decor.
But we’re going to try. In a couple of weeks we’re going to go to the local plant nursery and pick out some flowers that Nicole likes, plant them, and put a cute little white picket fence around her garden. She really wants one, and her current garden is rather boring. The only flowers there are dandelions, and I’m guessing those don’t really count. Too bad weeds don’t count. Those I can grow.
So, does anyone have any suggestions of plants that are easy to maintain but look pretty? I could use some professional help (in more ways than one, but in this case I’m talking about the gardening kind).

I came here to say something smart about plants, but can’t think of anything other than plants suck to take care of.
Right now I am lucky, since it is hot as heck most of the year I have a palm bush and want to buy some cactus and pineapples (which are extremely easy to take care of).
So there you go… maybe some fruit plants? Grapes are generally easy to take care of. Just water it every so often for the first month or so, then the roots should be deep enough to where you won’t have to worry about it.
Pineapples you don’t need to worry about at all. Just plant them and leave them alone. There is a nice howto on the web somewhere on how to do it. Basically just buy a ripe pineapple, then cut it two inches from the top (the part with leaves), then stick the leaves in the ground only leaving the fruit exposed.

Oh I love to garden! And I do have if not a green thumb, Pretty close to it. You should check out my garden on my blog if you haven’t already! I grow most of my stuff in Buckets and barrels and tires and everyone calls it a home made jungle. Check your space. is it sunny or shady or mixed.. Then check your plants to see which they need. Give them water a few times a week and they should do fine. It’s not nearly as hard as people think.. I do know that in some areas they have bans on watering so if that is true in your area you can always get a large or super large (smile) Garbage can. and put it under the house eaves where the water runs off. you can then use that and a watering can to water you garden. I water some part of mine daily but have it worked out so that everything gets water every other day.. Unless it rains.. If it rains at all I thank God for watering that day and the next day move on with my watering. I even leave the sprinkler in the spot where it was last used so I will know what area is next.. that way if God waters two days or three I still know where I need to go next.. Haha.. So far my way has worked for me.. and if yall want to try a food crop the very easiest is tomato or cucumber. I grow lots of veggies this year I have canned 21 quarts of string beans and they are growing in Buckets. People come here just to check them out. Also one more tiny thing that helps you enjoy the garden is sounds and sights.. I have wind chimes and angels or knomes every where here.. Of course I also have strawberries growing in old boots!.. Have a good day! Happy Gardening..
