That’s what I’m stuck in. The ice cream truck just went by and had “Jingle Bells” playing on the speakers. Why? It’s August! Christmas isn’t coming around for another 3 months!1
And then of course it got me thinking about all those other times that holidays appear way before they should. Wal-Mart will probably be putting up their Halloween stuff soon.2 They put up Christmas stuff about a week earlier each year. I swear, in 2020, Wal-Mart will be putting up Christmas stuff for December of 2020 in January of 2020. It’s getting ridiculous.
Whatever happened to buy stuff for a holiday about 2 weeks before?3 That would be more normal. Oh well. I’ll stop ranting now. But when I heard the bells on the ice cream truck I just had to come say something.

- Make sure to buy your Halloween invitations for your parties right now. I mean it. There’s no time left! [«]
- Maybe 3 weeks. But 3 months?! [«]

I guess my timeline for holiday shopping runs a little slow because I do not do my holiday shopping until after the holiday. You get the most discount that way. I also hate the marketing ploy to get us to spend more just because they stock their shelves earlier.
