The Daily Read(The Daily Read is a series of blog posts written on posts that have been found throughout the Entrecard blogosphere. If you’re interested in having your own post listed here, send me a link to that post THROUGH ENTRECARD. You can do so by clicking on the “E” on the Entrecard widget to your right. I will take a look and respond to let you know if it will be featured here.)

And here’s another single blog edition of the Daily Read. Thou shalt Stumble, Digg, etc. (Commandment 219)

Affiliate Lounge

Affiliate Lounge

Affiliate Lounge is a relatively new site (the official launch was on December 19th, 2007) geared towards Internet entrepreneurs. But it’s already shaping up to be a really good site full of information on the topic. Some of the comics they pick out and present are quite funny. So this is a place for the serious and the silly.

Content

As I said, Affiliate Lounge is relatively new, but already there’s great content to be found here. Stay motivated in 2008! is a wonderful guest post by Colin Kearney. If you need to be motivated, this is definitely an article for you. Feedburner Hacked or just plain Cheating!? garnered much attention from the readers of the site. It mentions how RSS feed numbers can be unscrupulously changed. This proves also that recent comments about my own site don’t have as much bearing as people think they do. Numbers are just numbers and I’m happy that Phillip pointed this one out. As an example of the comics that Phillip manages to find to fit the moment, you’ve got to read (and see) this one: Evolution in the making! I laughed out loud at it, and I’m not known to do such things.

Design

Affiliate Lounge has recently undergone a template change as Phillip mentions in this post: Welcome to the new: ME! I’m happy to say that it was a good change. Although I will forever miss the cheetah that used to adorn his page, the lines on this theme are clean. Sure it’s a premium theme that other sites use, but he’s managed to make it work for his site. The neon lights for the logo make sense for the name of the site and makes it seem like a place to just “hang out.” What adds even more to this notion is the game you can play on his header. It changes each time, and I ended up spending about 30 minutes just playing different games that popped up.

Use of Ads

Advertisements are handled well because they are kept in the dark sidebar on the right. This separates them from his content and keeps your eyes right where they should be: on the articles. The sidebar is also not overflowing with ads as some other sites tend to do.

Placement of Entrecard Widget

The Entrecard widget is one scroll down on my 1600×1200 screen. So maybe about three scrolls down for those of you surfing at 800×600. It’s easy to find though.

Conclusion

This is a site to watch. As long as Phillip keeps the great content coming and cares about his site as much as he seems to, this is going to be a great place to hang out and learn about making money on the Internet.

@Felix - Thanks. I use two different formats depending on whether I feel like writing about 1 site or 5.
