(The Daily Read is a series of blog posts written on posts that have been found throughout the Entrecard blogosphere. If you’re interested in having your own post listed here, send me a link to that post THROUGH ENTRECARD. You can do so by clicking on the “E” on the Entrecard widget to your right. I will take a look and respond to let you know if it will be featured here.)
Nothing of Particular Interest
Meerkat Mistress floors me. She has an odd habit of just making me spit milk out of my mouth. Now the funny thing about that is I don’t drink milk anymore. So I have no idea where it’s coming from. She just knows how to do it. I must learn this trick. Teach me.
Content
What can I say? I’ve reviewed a few sites over the last few days and they have all been excellent. This one is excellent when it comes to random silliness. For example: Let’ssssss BATTLE! is just her playing with Compete stats. But it’s funny! Seriously! Who would think to compare spork.com, fork.com,and spoon.com? I was amazed that apples.com and oranges.com wasn’t in there, but I figure it’ll get added one day. Or, let’s see, there’s Your Weekly Horoscopes, Courtesy Of The Meerkat. I had to stop reading them for a second to catch my breath. The content here is genuine, funny, and genuinely funny.
Design
Blue. It’s all blue with a little bit of green. Does it work? YES! It fits the whimsical style of the writing. I love it when people pick a visual style that fits the content. This is one of those times. What’s interesting is she has a “Best viewed” resolution message that I think is not necessary. I viewed it at different resolutions and found it just as easy to read. I mean you wouldn’t want to go below 800×600, but not too many people do, if any nowadays. The design is clean.
Use of Ads
There’s a slightly jarring ad for a banner exchange right in the center under the title bar. Otherwise, the ads are nice and melded with the site on the right hand sidebar. So minus that one ad, even the ad spaces are clean.
Placement of Entrecard Widget
Above the fold. High on the right hand side. Great place for it!
Conclusion
Give me a blue humor with a side of green sarcasm any day! (Translation: I’ve subscribed. So should you.)

Thanks for the great review.
I’ll remove that resolution message, thanks!
The only reason that the banner exchange is there is because it’s run by a friend. He said he might be shutting it down and starting a new project soon, so that might be gone in a week or two.
Thanks again for the review!

“apples.com and oranges.com” Don’t forget your turnips! Sadly, Turnip.com is taken by some useless company until 2010. Interesting post, I’ll have to check this site out.
