(The Daily Read is a series of blog posts written on posts that have been found throughout the Entrecard blogosphere. If you’re interested in having your own post listed here, send me a link to that post THROUGH ENTRECARD. You can do so by clicking on the “E” on the Entrecard widget to your right. I will take a look and respond to let you know if it will be featured here.)
I hope you really enjoy today’s Daily Read. Turnip is a great friend to the Entrecard community so it’s about time I mentioned him.

Turnip of Power
Turnip has been an avid supporter of Entrecard through his posts and the help he’s provided many people along the way. I’m very proud to consider him a blogging friend and hope to one day sit down with him with a couple of drinks and hang out. So, Turnip, if you’re reading this, I’m buying the first round.
Content
Turnip of Power is extremely good at instructing people. For example, Almost Free Traffic From Project Wonderful is an excellently written post about how to get extra traffic from Project Wonderful. So not only can it make you some money, but you can get extra traffic from it. This was a “secret” I was amazed he’d share with people. You’ve got to read this one. Turnip also has a great sense of humor. One of the posts that made me laugh was this one: Entrecard Predictions. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor that works well with his writing. Yet another post that shows off his abilities as an Entrecarder and his willingness to share information is this one: Becoming An Entrecard Click Master. You truly can’t go wrong subscribing to his feed and visiting his site every day.
Design
Turnip is great at giving out advice on the design of other sites. He’s given em tons of advice on my design and I’m slowly implementing most of it. What he’s also great at is taking a free theme and making it his own. The theme he uses I’ve seen elsewhere. But instead of thinking to myself, “That’s a free theme I’ve seen before,” I think, “That’s Turnip’s theme.” Not because he created it, but because he picked one that really fits him. The color scheme and use of the tiny turnips all over the place really make you feel like you’re in a turnip garden of some kind. It feels earthy and grassy. It just makes sense.
Use of Ads
Turnip’s ads are located in the sidebar although he’s very good at incorporating them within his posts where they make sense. Even the Adsense banners don’t take your eye away from the content even though they are right in the content.
Placement of Entrecard Widget
If it was any further up, it’d be his title banner. Great placement for the widget.
Conclusion
This is a must read for everything Entrecard. However, if you listen carefully to his words, you’ll also find that his advice is good for any type of marketing. The man is a genius who doesn’t tell you he’s a genius.

I couldn’t agree more! Turnip is a wealth of information, and I really appreciate how he unselfishly shares what he knows in a way you can easily put the info to good use.
I really look forward to your “Daily Read”, too.

I’ve been reading Turnip for a couple weeks now, pretty interesting.
It took me a while to figure out the site was called Turnip of Power and not Turn IP of Power… I guess that’s why I’m the impNERD.
