Random Conversations Are Fun!

Kristen’s GuideHave you ever just had an awesome random conversation? Whether in person or by e-mail, these can be quite fun. I’ve had them happen in the past, but recently, it happened again and I really wanted to share it with you guys. Kristen from Kristen’s Guide is the person I had this particular conversation with. I featured one of her posts in my MWF Read and the conversation can be found below. Try starting one of your own. They can be very fun and really bring out the creativity in you. Without further ado, here’s the conversation between me and Kristen:

Kristen: Ahhhhh, thanks. Very nice of you. I’m honored. You realize though that this makes you my best friend. I’ll buy us matching bracelets and everything. :-)

Me: Cool! One of those two-pieces-of-a-heart ones? I like those. ;)

Kristen: OK, but only if it’s made out of certified organic, biodegradable, zero-calorie, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, non-toxic, not-from-China, PETA approved materials, is labeled with a warning to not let children under 3-years-old play with it, and has earned the Better Homes and Gardens quality seal of approval. Oh, and can we get it in bright orange?

Me: I completely agree, except with the orange. How about orange and pink polka dots?

Kristen: Brilliant! You and I should go into fashion design together.

Me: From student, to blogger, to dieter, to fashion designer? Ok. Let’s do it. ;)

Kristen: Cool! You get to pick the brand logo. I vote for pickles.

Me: How about mustard and pickles? Then the name could be “Must Pick Clothing” ;)

Kristen: Awesome! Then we could have runway shows and all the models will wear pickle costumes with mustard hats.

Me: Ooo! Ooo! The models could ride Harleys onto the stage!

Kristen: You realize what this means, don’t you? Orange with pink polka-dots fashion lines with our pickle and mustard logo and our models wearing pickle suits and mustard hats and riding Harleys on a fashion runway. It means that we’re more than just simple fashion designers. We’re artists, man. And that means we’ll get to charge lots of money for people to buy our stuff. We’ll have to open boutiques in shopping malls and maybe even a grand shop on Rodeo Drive in BH, CA where we’ll serve lattes and Champaign to the rich and famous, who will, of course, beg to buy our clothes (but we’ll laugh at them and refuse because of their recent tabloid scandals). And we can host huge parties filled with people we don’t actually care about just so we can sit back and make fun of them as they try to impress us. Then we’ll expand into other mediums like custom oil paint pigments and lawn gnome designs. Before long, we’ll be able to run for governor and work our way up to president, and, of course, finally, achieve the status of Emperor of the World. We’re starting a revolution, my friend.1

I think yall could even pull it off. I’m thinking I should have been doing the blog reading thing a long long time ago. It makes me think there is real fun out there on-line? Is it possible? I’m gonna be checking out a lot more blogs. If I keep coming here I’ll have a whole new outlook on life. See what yall are doing to an old person! Wow! I might even become artsy myself if I’m not careful. Have a great night!

    Saph… Max is at http://britishspeak.blogspot.com

Pretty much every comment thread is a collection of delightful insanity. He got me hooked in with HELP, and continues to make me laugh in Bugger This. Not everyone’s sense of humor, I’ll grant you that… but it’s right up my alley. :)

These conversations are a lot of fun! I get tickled reading them over and over again.

This one is priceless — I MUST get in on the ground floor of your fashion endeavor — are you by any chance taking investors?

    ;)

Thanks for posting this. What fun!

It made me look at you and Kristen in a fun new way. Someone I would love to go to lunch with. Actually I would have wanted to to do that anyway so that’s not a good example. But I certainly would love to to into the fashion business with you. What fun we would have!

    @Margaret - That’s up to Kristen. Can’t answer without my partner. ;)

@Leisa - I’d love to have lunch with all of the people who comment on my site. We should have a convention. ;)

Yes, a convention would be fun.

In fact that got me wondering how many of the Entrecard community attend blogging conventions. I just started a survey in the Entrecard Community Forum.

Someone told me I should get one somewhere else though.. Told me I needed to draw readers. That might be fun. I have a big mouth and could Most likely come up with something to say every day. Maybe all day some days.. ( I get Like that!)
I could even call it Words of wit and wisdom from a weird old woman! Wow I’d read that If I saw it somewhere listed. lol..I’d have to. well that might be too much Huh? Might scare folks away? Yea a bloggers life might be good. They have my attention anyway.

@Patsy - The best way to do a blog is to have your own domain name and a self-hosted blog. Like the one I have here. However, it’s possible to go free and then upgrade later if you decide you like it. One place that most free blogs use is:
    http://www.blogger.com

    Hee Hee

(Sorry for the delay. Spring break and all.)

Saph, we certainly must have more silly conversations. That was fun. We should start a silly conversation community blog where everybody gets to add a line to the conversation.

And Margaret, yes, we are happily accepting contributions from investors. Feel free to send me any amount of money you wish.*

Oh, and we definitely must take LeisaWatkins to lunch. In fact, everybody’s invited. (But you’re paying for your own lunch, unless, of course, Margaret wants to charge it as a business expense and deduct it from her taxes.) I’ll be free this upcoming Wednesday. You’ll all be able to hop on out to Portland, Oregon to meet me, right? Greek or Italian? I know a couple of awesome places.

*Investment gains are not guaranteed and you may lose money. (Especially since the angry biker models keep showing up late, and I keep spending the profits on chocolate.)

    Happy day,

    Kristen

I vote for Italian. No Greek. No Italian. I guess I don’t really care. I just love good food of any kind.

You know I could have gotten killer air fare rates to Portland last week. Wouldn’t that have been fun. Just fly in for lunch and meet you.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you to hide the chocolates till I get there. Don’t let those bikers eat them all cause I’d do anything for chocolate. I’m booking my airfare right now…

I’m coming to propose I open an “exclusive boutique” here in Salt Lake to market your fashion line. I’m here in Utah so we couldn’t do the Lattes and Champaign like you would be doing at your Rodeo Drive shop. I’d have to do hot cocoa and 7-up.

I’d name it Orange with Pink Polka-dots, or Orange and Pink Polka-dots, or The Orange and Pink Dot Spot. Still brainstorming that one.

I like unusual names. I once named and managed a gift shop named “Seagulls and Crickets” truly I did. The name is based on some Utah history. We almost always had seagulls sitting on top of the store and bombing our customers.

@Kristen - I’ll jump in my Leer and be there on Wednesday.

@Leisa - I like “The Orange and Pink Dot Spot” myself, but Kristen would have to sign off on it. I’d vote for Italian, but my doctor might get upset.
